[unhappily:] I-I was just...outside. I'm trying to- to figure things out. Someone-- she sat down, too. And, and talked to me, and then...there were lots of them. They showed up. I didn't notice because they're not-- they're just animals, not...monsters, so I didn't know.

...ok, honestly? That sounds like someone being a huge tool with their superpowers. Dogs don't just swarm for no reason unless you're holding a side of beef or something.

[and that kind of ticks her off, but she'll keep that part to herself. people being assholes because they have special abilities is one of her sore points.]

You should really be a little more aware, though. It's not like dogs are these tiny super missable things.

[she's silent for a time, an impressive feat considering their other interactions. there's a lot of stuff going on here that she doesn't understand, at least from the way he's phrasing things, but Hazel suspects she doesn't like it.
